Community groups, schools and not-for-profit organisations across Endeavour Energy’s network are encouraged to apply for funding through the 2026 Powering Communities Grants Program, with applications now open.

Now in its third year, the program offers one-off grants of between $2,000 and $15,000 to support grassroots projects that make a positive difference in local communities.

Endeavour Energy supplies electricity to more than 2.8 million people across Central NSW, the Blue Mountains, Greater Western Sydney, the Southern Highlands, Illawarra and the South Coast. Through the grants program, the organisation is investing in community-led initiatives that strengthen resilience, improve the environment, encourage STEM education and foster stronger social connections.

Endeavour Energy Chief Customer and Strategy Officer Leanne Pickering said supporting local communities is an important part of the organisation’s role.

“While providing safe, reliable and affordable electricity remains our core focus, we also recognise the importance of making a positive contribution to the communities we serve,” Ms Pickering said.

“The Powering Communities Grants Program allows us to support local initiatives that strengthen resilience, improve wellbeing and create lasting benefits.”

Since its launch, the program has funded 32 community projects, including solar and battery installations for community halls, STEM education initiatives in schools, emergency resilience hubs and food support programs for families in need.

Funding is available across four categories:

• STEM and Education – supporting learning opportunities, educational resources and skills development.
• Community Resilience – helping communities prepare for and recover from extreme weather events while promoting health and wellbeing.
• Environmental Leadership – encouraging renewable energy, reducing carbon emissions and supporting conservation projects.
• Social Inclusion – promoting diversity, improving energy literacy and supporting vulnerable communities experiencing cost-of-living pressures.

Ms Pickering said previous grant rounds had delivered lasting benefits.

“We’ve seen these grants make a real difference, from improving flood resilience at Richmond Riding for the Disabled and expanding STEM learning for Autism Spectrum Australia, to restoring Illawarra saltmarsh ecosystems and installing solar and battery storage for the Hazelbrook-Lawson Girl Guides,” she said.
