
Young people looking to make a difference in their community are being encouraged to apply for The Hills Shire’s Sydney Hills Youth Ambassador Program.
Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne, said the 12-month program offers young residents a valuable opportunity to develop leadership skills while helping shape the future of the community.
“The Sydney Hills Youth Ambassador Program empowers young people to have a real voice in shaping our community,” Mayor Byrne said.
“Our Youth Ambassadors not only represent Council at community events and forums, but also help shape programs, develop and deliver their own initiatives, and support their peers through meaningful community engagement.
“If you’re passionate about your community, eager to meet new people, and ready to step up as a leader, I encourage you to apply and help shape the future of The Hills.”
Throughout the 12-month term, Youth Ambassadors will:
Applicants must be aged between 15 and 24 years and live in The Hills Shire.
Nominations close on Thursday, 18 June 2026, with the program running from July 2026 to July 2027.
To nominate yourself or someone you know, visit The Hills Shire Council and search “Youth Ambassador” to complete the online application form.
