As Urban Real Estate continues expanding across north-west Sydney, the independently owned business says its long-term success has been built on strong internal culture, local knowledge and investing in people for the future.
With offices located throughout some of Sydney’s fastest-growing communities, Urban Real Estate has continued strengthening its presence across the region by focusing on local agents, community connection and internal career development rather than adopting a franchise-style growth model.
Chief Executive Officer Katrina Tarrant said maintaining culture across the business has remained one of the company’s highest priorities as the network continues to grow.
“Culture is everything for us,” Ms Tarrant said.
“We’ve built a business where people genuinely support each other, develop together and stay connected to the communities they work in. That’s been a huge part of our growth.”
The company believes clients increasingly want to work with agents who not only understand the property market, but also the lifestyle, infrastructure and long-term direction of the areas they live in.
As north-west Sydney continues experiencing significant population growth and major infrastructure investment, Urban Real Estate says having a strong local presence has become more important than ever.
Alongside its office expansion, the business has continued investing heavily in training, leadership development and internal career pathways across sales, property management, administration and operations.
Many senior team members began in junior positions before progressing through the business over several years.
One example is sales agent Nathan Fyffe, who joined Urban Real Estate as a young associate before developing into one of the leading agents in his local area.
After years working within the business and learning the local market, Fyffe has built a strong reputation through consistency, local relationships and long-term client trust.
Ms Tarrant said stories like Fyffe’s reflect the long-term mindset the company wants to create for people entering the industry.
“We want people to see real estate as a genuine long-term career, not just a job,” she said.
“When people are given the right support, coaching and environment, they can achieve incredible things over time.”
Urban Real Estate has also developed a strong reputation for workplace flexibility and female leadership across the business.
Flexible working arrangements, leadership opportunities and tailored return-to-work pathways have become an important part of the company’s recruitment and retention strategy, particularly for working parents balancing career and family commitments.
Director of Talent Olivia Chammas said creating a supportive environment has become critical in attracting and retaining quality people within the industry.
“People perform at their best when they feel supported professionally and personally,” Ms Chammas said.
Urban Real Estate is currently recruiting across sales, property management, administration and operational support roles as the business continues strengthening its footprint across north-west Sydney.
Ms Tarrant said despite the company’s continued growth, the focus remains on maintaining the culture and community connection that helped build the business in the first place.
“We’re proud that we’ve been able to grow while still keeping that close team environment and local community focus,” she said.
“That’s something we never want to lose.”
